New York was in an Empire State of Mind Monday night as Alicia Keys hosted Gotham Magazine’s annual Gotham Ball. The NYC native hosted the fete at Capitale, where guests like Busta Rhymes, model Julie Henderson and designer Catherine Malandrino enjoyed a performance from hip-hop violinist Miri Ben-Ari. Keys is on the cover of the March 2010 issue, which is the first under editor-in-chief Samantha Yanks. Yanks, who is a GlamChic favorite, started at Niche Media in 2004 and climbed the ranks in her fabulous heels to the top slot. The Spring Fashion issue features several unique interviews; Michael Kors interviewed Lincoln Center’s director of fashion Stephanie Winston Wolkoff and model Jessica Stam did the asking in a piece on designer Chrissie Miller. We love the re-design which includes bolder runway images and an informatively chic front-of-book. Stay in the know with a copy of this stylish must read.
