Since we all know that a DMOZ listing is considered as primary directory index factor — shows with some relevant degree your website’s category in the internet space — I’ve decided that after yesterday’s “design” review on my website that I will try and request DMOZ listing.

This is actually my third time trying to request DMOZ listing but as you may know DMOZ is something only “GOD” gives and takes away. That’s why I’ll just home my blog is “valuable” enough to get listed this time.

It will be really nice to get it listed since DMOZ is a great quality factor as DMOZ rejects all “SPAMMY” looking sites and small sites that do not have any value or are sharing similar to the existing website listings in that category for which you are applying. For this primary reason I will do some small comparison for all websites listed in the category DMOZ->Computers->Internet->Web Design and Development/Promotion->Search Engine Optimization Firms->V (letter). The sites currently listed there are only 21 therefore I’m assuming my site’s quality is OK I should be listed there. Basically what we have is 6 bad out of 8 excellent and 6 good ones. Roughly that’s about 30% crap in that category which means one of two things:
a) this category was not updated recently (no recently added listings!!). or
b) there are not many sites on that topic and Crap is acceptable.

I really hope its the second one although it has less chance since the Internet is quite large and there are so many SEO sites out there and it will be highly unlikely that SEO guys won’t try to get their sites listed in the DMOZ. Right?
